Chuck Taylor Slip
The Chuck Taylor Slip is a fav of mine. Something about the elastic strapped tongue - just enough downward pressure, not too much, nothing I do in those shoes requires anything tighter, but looser would be worse. Elastic is a magic material.
Fat Sharpie
My general rule of thumb is "as low-fi as possible". This is why I'll often rough sketch an idea on paper with a Sharpie, take a picture, and send it to someone rather than get out the iPad, launch a drawing app, grab the tools, (over)do the thing, export, share, etc.
Paperlike
I've never enjoyed sketching on the iPad because I don't like the slick glass feel. I much prefer the subtle resistance and drag you get with paper and marker. Paperlike is a wonderful screen protector that mimics paper. And it really works well.
Tissot PRX
This one is a bit out there but if you want very gold (colored), auto, and something with character that isn't a dress watch, consider the Tissot PRX. Fits your stated budget. I have one and it's a lot of fun.

I use WhisprFlow for all my prompting, brainstorming, and note-taking. Otter .ai for conversations, calls, and longer sessions. But WhisprFlow with a keyboard shortcut, or, if you want to be SPECTACULARLY nerdy, the Stream Deck Pedal (non-ironically, it's amazing)

I got the Rodecaster v1 and it's amazing. I hear even better things about the v2 and the recently released smaller version. Onboard amp, EQ, Noise Gate, high pass and the Aphex stuff is really good. And recording a backup stream directly to SD is chefs kiss.
Apple TV
We have a projector in our basement, the Apple TV is hooked up directly to that via HDMI and to a sound bar via audio cables. We have no TVs in the house, so that's the “entertainment base station” for all our Netflix/Disney+/whatever needs.

Ceiling Rail Mounting System
Did some upgrading in the studio. The ceiling rail mounting system is now in place, holding most of my lights. I'll be adding a few more things (mics and cameras) to this over time. So much more space to walk with the clunky light stands out of the way.
Sony ZV-1
With the ZV-1, I had an always-on HDMI-based setup. No need to do the USB data thing. My USB only charged the camera, which I never turned off and thus didn't have to change zoom settings. Grabbed a capture card and a microHDMI cable and BOOM. HD video, never needed to touch the camera, could even mount a prompter and use an iPad beneath it.

i have few homepods in one room of my place in nyc with nothing in the room except a rug & some sound dampening stuff. i just lie there, listen to music, & stare at the ceiling. it's basically a chapel for doing nothing, like a sensory deprivation tank but with only sound. highly recommend.

mouth taping while sleeping has made a huge difference for me. better sleep, deeper rest, no dry mouth, definitive less waking up. it sounds weird until you try it then it's obvious. highly recommend.
Freewrite Traveler

in my experience the best cubes are the 2.5in and 3in (11lbs and 19lbs) since you can still pick them up with one hand, the 4in is uncomfortably large and awkwardly heavy at 45lbs

I discovered that the CO2 levels where I slept were at 2,300 ppm, whereas the level in fresh air is around 420 ppm. 👩❤️👨 Also, two people in a room = 2x of CO2 💨 So, I started sleeping with the window open, which reduced the CO2 level to 500 ppm. ☺️ Now, I sleep for 8 hours straight and wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
